Tiger: n/a; Wolf: 4 and 8; Bear: 1 and 2; Jr. Webelos: 6 and 7; Sr. Webelos: 3 and 5

Attendance: Kelly Smith, Tammy Siva, Kelly Ives, Duane Hall, Paralee Hendrickson, and Linda Schock

Pack meeting:

This month's Pack meeting is the last summertime activity for Scouts to earn the Summertime Activity Award. The campfire and meeting will begin at 7:00 PM. Our theme is "History of Cub Scouting" and we'll celebrate the 75th Anniversary of Cub Scouting with a display of old Cub Scout memorobilia and a birthday cake after the meeting. Sr. Webelos of Den 3 will build & maintain the fire, and do the opening flag ceremony and Cub Scout Promise. Den 5 will close the meeting with the Law of the Pack and flag retirement. We'll use old Cub Scout song books and present awards.

Pack leadership needs are:

  • Cubmaster
  • Assistant Cubmaster
  • Den Leader & Assistant DL for Den 6

The committee discussed a monthly lottery to determine the next month's Cubmaster and Assistant Cubmaster. Den 6 parents will need to provide that Dens leaders if the Den is to continue. Unfortunately, the Pack doesn't have another Jr Webelos Den to assimilate those Scouts into without additional parent volunteers.

Advancements: Please submit all Scout advancement and awards to Tammy Johnson by August 18 via email. Also send your Dens advancements to Duane Hall and Linda Schock to prepare for the Pack meeting and to be entered into the Pack records.

Treasurer: The Pack has a checking account balance of $1,223.99 and approximately $25 in petty cash.
Asst Cubmaster:

Position available.

Training:

Tecumseh Council is holding Cub Scout Leader Training on Saturday, October 1 from 8 AM - 5:30 PM at Xenia Church of Christ, 444 Country Club. Leaders are encouraged to attend training. Simply call/email Tammy Siva or Linda Schock if you would like to attend. The Pack pays all training registration fees and your materials and lunch are provided.

Other Business:

School Night for Scouting is September 15. Duane will arrange with Main Elementary for us to use the cafeteria beginning at 6 PM. He will order flyers from Nicki Crellin. We have a brand new blue Cub Scout shirt, youth medium size to be raffled off at SNfS. Parents that submit an application and payment will be entered into the raffle. Linda will sew on the Council patch, numeral patch and purple crest emblem patch.

Program Kickoff is Thursday, August 11 at 7:00 PM at Camp Birch's Turner Building near the parking lot.

Cub Scout Family Bash is a family campout at Camp Birch, October 8-9. The cost is $15 per person and includes all meals and a patch. Registration forms will be available at the Pack meeting and linked on the home page of the website.

September Pack meeting will be set up for family seating which will provide enough chairs for parents to sit with their kids throughout the room. The den flags will be at the front of the room so families will be encouraged to sit together rather than Dens sitting together. The Webelos will take turns acting as greeters at the entrance to pass out newsletters, song sheets and shake hands with the arriving Cub Scouts. This will give the Scouts additional opportunities to learn the handshake. They can also remind families of the family seating.
