History of Rothes Juniors

Rothes Juniors was founded in the early 1990’s  with the aim of allowing children of all age groups to play football, regardless of  skill level,  in a friendly environment without the pressure of competitive football.

The Club has evolved over the years and with the formation of  CEFSSA and the SYFA has progressed into playing football at all age levels. Today the club has approx. 200 children participating in football from “Fun Fours” for the 6-8 years age groups through to “Soccer Sevens” for the 9-12 year olds and finally to eleven a side for the over twelve age groups.

The Fife Institute of Physical and Recreational Education is the home of Rothes Juniors Football Club. The facilities range from indoor games hall , outdoor  floodlit Astro Turf pitch, seven a-side grass pitches , development size grass pitch and full 11 a-side grass pitches.

In 2006 Rothes Juniors became one of the first clubs in Scotland to receive the "SFA

Quality Award" which was presented to the club officials by  Lennart Johansson

"President of UEFA".  The club's next goal is to achieve the "Community Club" status through the SYFA.

The Club’s first competitive trophy was won by Rothes Juniors U14  team in season 2005/6 for winning the Fife Development League first Division title. They were also runners up in the Fife Cup Final in the same season and have been chosen to represent the Fife development League in the Regional Finals two years in a row.
